What is Mighty Machines Day?
Mighty Machines Day will bring families together for a hands-on, high-energy experience celebrating the big equipment that keeps our community running.
Hosted by the Cane River National Heritage Area, the event will invite children to get up close with farm equipment, construction vehicles, public safety equipment, service trucks, and other heavy machinery while meeting the professionals who operate them every day.
From climbing into cabs to honking horns and asking questions, kids will have the opportunity to explore machines they usually only see from a distance.
When and Where is Mighty Machines Day?
Saturday, November 14, 2026
The event will start at 9 a.m. and will last until 4 p.m. Quiet hour will be from 3-4p.m.
Location: Parc Natchitoches
What is the admission cost?
Admission is $25 per vehicle, so bring the whole crew! One vehicle pass provides entry for everyone riding in the vehicle. Cash or card is accepted.
What types of vehicles will be at Mighty Machines Day?
The event will feature a diverse range of vehicles, including fire trucks, police cars, ambulances, construction machinery, and much more, offering a broad spectrum of interactive experiences. The vehicles will be operated by professionals who can offer information, demonstrations, and answer questions about their respective vehicles.
Is there parking available nearby? Is it free or paid parking?
Parking will be free and available with designated areas for sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, and attendees. On the day of the event, designated volunteers will be available to guide and assist attendees in finding appropriate parking areas.
Is the event stroller accessible?
Yes! Strollers are welcome, though some machines and activities may be located on grassy or uneven terrain.
Are there food options available?
Attendees will have the option to purchase food and refreshments from local food trucks located on site. Alcohol is strictly prohibited during the event.
What happens if it rains?
Mighty Machines Day will take place rain or shine whenever possible. In the event of severe weather or unsafe conditions, updates will be shared on the Cane River National Heritage Area social media pages and at MightyMachinesDay.com.
